Its gonna be a good one!

I am exited for this week! There are a lot of things happening this week! General Conference, My in-laws are coming into town, (I know that is probably not something that people might be excited about but I LOVE my in-laws!) YAYY!  Also there is a BYU vs AGGIES game I am really looking forward to!!! I have a few main goals I want to do this week. #1 is that I want to listen to or read all of the talks from conference in April! To get in tune and prepared for this conference, and also to evaluate myself. There are a lot of talks that I just loved last conference... will they get topped? :) I love the availably of the talks. I can listen to them on my iphone while Im doing dishes, working out, vacuuming, mowing the lawn... and I need to do all of those things this week so this goal should get done! Goal # 2 is to use a few "pins" to get my kids excited about watching conference. And #3 I want to organize my craft room. I already painted my dresser and sewing table but I haven't organized everything! :/

Favorite Pin yet

Ok. So you could probably call me a pin-aholic. I think it's the greatest invention since peanut butter and chocolate! ;)  This one has to be my favorite pins that I have tried thus far... and I know I've only done like 15 of them but this one is good even if you've done 1000 pins! (PS- I hope to hit at least 50 by years end!) I love utilizing the creative, inventive, brains of other moms out there in the world! Since I am uninventive and ?non-creative?... I shall steal the ideas of those awesome moms out there in the world! MUHAHAHAHA! (I know I am so evil) Here is the link... so you can steal it too! http://www.mamajennblogs.com/2010/11/mam journal a-me-.html
Not really needed though... I just took a notebook from walmart (clearanced with school supplies right now for .50) and put a piece of scrapbook paper down, and put stickers on it (thinking about modge-podging it because I want it to last). Cost: Priceless. My daughter and I have only had this for a few days now but we have passed it back and forth several times already! It's been a fun way to communicate with her! I will cherish this book forever! I think that every mother that has a daughter -or even a son- that can write, needs one of these... Even if they are 15! Sometimes the words we feel, aren't the words that we use when speaking... I have always been better expressing myself on paper than any other way! So for me, THIS is perfect!

Implement

"I have got to get more organized!" Am I the only one that says this to myself on almost a daily basis!? It's time to start! I have pinned a lot of organizing and planning pins that need to be put into action!

implement
verb |-ˌment| |ˈɪmpləˈmɛnt| |ˈɪmplɪmɛnt| [ trans. ]
put (a decision, plan, agreement, etc.) into effect
Today I am going to implement 10 habits for moms! I pinned this on pinerest months ago and thought "oh, I need to do that" but did I???? NO! I think I have done about 11 of my 1355 pins!! That is not even 1 PERCENT!!! Not a very good success rate... What is yours? Today I start implementing this pin into my daily life! I made a checklist for myself to ensure that I do these daily!

Blah day turned Blah-essed day!

Well, today was kind of a "BLAH" day. Didn't get everything on my list of "to do's" done... actually I think my list may have gotten longer today! I did make a nightly chore chart for my kids because even though they do the same routine every night, they always seem to veer off course, and "forget" something that they were supposed to do! I made it on excel, and just put it into a sheet protector and used some double sided tape to put a dry erase marker to it, and taped it to the wall.  Now they can check things off their list. It's always more fun to do chores when you get to check them off! I have always been a list girl for that reason!! My husband teases that I have too many lists... "She has list of where her lists are..." so he says!!! But I don't, I actually just make one list, and when it gets cluttered or unorganized I make another with the things that are not crossed off... Im old fashioned I know... I'm sure "there is an app for that";)

I will say that I really enjoyed my kids today. First my son had a few friends over and he said to one of them "did you get to 'ate' yet"(still working on his grammar :D) and she replied "No, I am only Three" BAHAHA! I laughed for a long time, and they laughed at me... because they didn't understand why I was laughing! This was a lesson to me... to find joy in the journey, and to just laugh. Even when I don't understand why things are happening the way they are around me, I just need to choose to laugh!

My daughter came home from school distraught because she wanted a specific friend over SOOO badly and I told her yesterday that it was possible... she held it against me like a gun! Oh the emotional roller coaster of girls! And I know it will only get worse. But things turned around for her today. She helped me make dinner, and then came up with the idea that we should do a "pajama walk" after dinner. And we did just that! I walked and they rode their bikes around the block in PJ's. And to think, I was just telling a friend today that I thought I should do some sort of evening "cardio." Well, I think I have found a way to make both me and my kids happy after dinner!

I also had a very special experience with my children this evening. We read stories every night, it is just part of our bedtime process... They each get to pick a book from the bookshelf. There was a last minute mind change by my daughter, about her book choice. She came in with one of my MOST FAVORITE BOOKS EVER WRITTEN... "You Are Priceless, The Parable of the Bicycle" The problem with this book is that I have never made it trough the book without crying! Silly, I know. Tonight, I even said to myself, "you're not going to cry, just read it fast" haha! That didn't happen! Well my daughter is 6, and is old enough to recognize that I am getting choked up. She would lean over and look at my face as I was reading, and the wipe just below my eyes, hoping to wipe away my tears, just as I had done for her earlier today. I thought it was very sweet. But that's not all. I tucked them in and when I went to go back upstairs, I noticed that my daughters light was on. So I opened the door and she immediately said, "Sorry I turned my light back on mom, I just felt like reading the Book of Mormon, and I couldn't see with just my night light." I said, "That is just fine" and I shut the door. I couldn't help but think of the scripture in Proverbs 22:6 "Train up a child in the way that he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it." I need to continually be teaching my children to love and serve the Lord because, let's just say, its getting a little scary out there! :/ I LOVE being a mom! Especially on days like today! I am so Blessed!

Welcome

Hi everyone! I started a blog!!! Yikes. Another something to add to my list of to do's! I hope to keep up on it! I started this blog because I love learning new "trades" and also love to share my knowledge with everyone!  It does no good just sitting up there in my brain right!? So here is my first post... I think the hardest thing will be deciding what I want to post because I seriously think I try something (or more than one something) new everyday.

Today I will share one of the recipes I tried! Super simple, Super easy, and Super clean! I took 4 cups of pre-cut Kale and put it in a bowl poured 2 T of olive oil over the top and mixed around. Then placed the kale on a wax paper lined cookie sheet. Then I sprinkled Mrs. Dash's table blend seasoning and pepper over the top. Baked in the oven at 350 for 15 minutes. And now I have chips!! Chips that are not only, not bad for me.... They are actually GOOD for me!
